A scholarship is a type of financial aid awarded to a student to help them pay for tuition, books, and living expenses. Colleges offer scholarships in order to attract the best students.
The requirements for a scholarship vary from school to school but most institutions require you to have a high GPA, be academically qualified and have good references .The U.S. Army requires you to have a high GPA and complete the following requirements.
Must have completed 4 years of post secondary education or earned an associate’s degree with a minimum 2.75 grade point average (GPA).
1 Must submit official transcripts from all post secondary institutions attended and must be eligible to reenlist in the U.S. Army, if needed (must be eligible for immediate reenlistment)
2 Must score. in the top 50% of your Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) tests- Must be at least 17 years old and younger than 27 years old at time of application
3 Must not be colorblind or suffer from any known condition that may interfere with the ability to operate a weapon safely, such as: tunnel vision, nearsightedness, depth perception problems, color blindness
4 Must have 30/60 uncorrected distant vision in one eye and 20/40 uncorrected
