We are going to look at a few different examples of resumes and see what they have in common.
The first resume is from a recent college graduate who has no work experience:
“I graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Sociology. I am currently looking for a job that will allow me to explore my interests and develop my skills.”
This resume is not very helpful for someone who has no work experience. It does not show any skills that the person possesses, or why they would be qualified for the position. A more helpful example might be one like this:
“I graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Sociology and I am pursuing an MBA at Stanford University. My interest in business stems from my passion for entrepreneurship, and I am committed to being an excellent team player.”
This resume gives us insight into why this person is qualified, what their qualifications are, and how they would contribute to the company as an employee. The
